SC for Ed is excited to be a featured organization during the Hootie and the Blowfish HootieGives Hometown Concert Series

Columbia, SC -- As Grammy Award-Winning band Hootie and the Blowfish return to their roots in Columbia, SC for the last shows of their Group Therapy tour, SC for Ed is proud to be partnering with their foundation, Hootie Gives and Richland County Public Education Partners on Thursday, September 12, 2019 to host a ¨fill a bus¨ event before and after the concert at the front door entry doors.  On the list of supplies needed for classrooms across Richland County, pencils, dry erase markers, copy paper, bleach wipes and tissue. Last year the state of South Carolina underfunded its educational mandate by $370 million, leaving many classrooms across South Carolina with few supplies with which to effectively instruct our children.  The list of basic supplies provided are the minimum needed to engage students in meaningful learning in an environment designed for their success.

Additionally, the general public can support our efforts through several donation options

Hootie and the Blowfish, known for making charitable giving a priority throughout their career via the Hootie and the Blowfish Foundation, will match all monetary donations made through Friday, September 20, 2019 up to $20,000.
